This client has a spectacular view of the new forest. Originally their idea was to put a summerhouse in this shaded spot but after initial conversations we all agreed that would spoil the view. What was needed was a way to enjoy what was already there! We installed a shingle pathway with a full subbase underneath to help prevent the weeds and to make it feel as though you are not sinking as you walk along.
We raised a patio so it would enhance what you can see over the wild hedging. We used a raj blend Indian sandstone paver. Behind the patio is a Purbeck stone rockery, planted with year-round interest and some very colourful and fun alpine plants that the customer needs little care to look after. Along the pathway is a lavender Hidcote hedge which will develop and make a statement and add a lovely sent as you approach the patio.
